“Detroit has always been home to me, even when my career took me to LA. No matter where I’ve lived, my family history and deep roots in this city have made me an unofficial ambassador for Detroit,” recipient Justin Wilson said. “This program and the $15,000 grant are helping to cover my down payment and moving costs, making my transition back to Detroit and my journey into homeownership possible.”

“We’re taking on this challenge at MoveDetroit. As a coalition of 50+ partners across corporate, civic and community organizations, this historic, citywide effort is designed to grow Detroit’s population, build equitable growth and foster thriving communities in our city.”

"Detroit is the second-most affordable city for homebuyers, with a median house price only being over twice the median household income, the second-lowest rate in the country. Detroit is also a city where you’ll benefit more from buying a home compared to renting."
